obviously, you haven't done this in California, because it's against city ordinances in nearly every California town Walmart is in. you can find a handful of them, in isolated regions here that might.
do people do it illegally here? sure they do but it's a******shoot. many will wake up with a ticket on their door here or a cop will pound on their door to tell them they have to move.

That's just not so. Walmarts are great to park in every single town I travel to, including all of California. The best and most travel convenient locations are where Walmarts are situated. I stayed in Walmarts every night last week when on a trip through big cities, and small, in New Mexico and Nevada. They all welcome the RV traveler. No police have ever ticketed any RVer I know of either. So, that's a story you're telling right there too, old sport.
