I really wonder WHY he won't do it? You said you already 'accidentally' did a no sewer weekend, came out fine, dumped on the way out and all was great!
He already did it. Why he is against it now is very weird :)
We do state parks almost exclusively. Cost is so much lower, we love the atmosphere, the amenities etc. Leaves more money on a trip to actually go to places in the area (touristy) that cost some bucks if we want.
This is what I would personally do. I would call it just like I see it.
I am 1/2 of this marriage and I WANT TO EXPERIENCE some state parks and what they have to offer. I WANT YOU TO do this for ME!!!! I would appreciate it, we would have fun, dump on the way out and I WANT you smiling thru the whole weekend :B This is something I want to experience with the whole family so we ARE GOING to do this and I AM GOING to book a state park weekend. :C (Then when he does agree, I would fawn all over him saying thanks and you appreciate the compromise etc.) You have to pet/praise the dog after he responds ;)
(joke of course)
best of luck in getting him to do this cause the parks are so much fun vs. the usual crammed full over the top resorts. (which I do love to go to every now and then when wanted)
