If you really want to convince them, find out exactly what concerns them about "less than full" hookups...I did this with DW when talking about dry camping and found that she wanted to be able to plug in chargers (remedied with a simple DC charging station) and doesn't like the noise of the water pump , which I'm hoping to remedy with an expansion tank like I've seen in the modification thread.
Give it a try for a night or two and see how it goes...to each his or her own, and they might just not like it. We like the flexibility of going anywhere we want.
