Your tow weight is not the only thing to consider. You also have to determine what your gross COMBINED vehicle weight rating is, which is the total weight of your car and loaded trailer. Although it may be capable of towing that much, the combined rating may come into play. Also consider you have to stop all of that weight. Maybe not an issue on level, clean ground but add other factors such as a downward slope or a panic stop and it might become a problem. There are plenty of hotels, motels and inns that will take your dog. There was a book at one time called Travelling with Tover that listed all dog-friendly accommodations. Not sure if it's up to date but there may be other books/websites that can help.
