- AllworthExplorer IIThis may seem like a strange idea, but why don't you ask Acura?
- Bob___AnnExplorerWe have a 2012 and it is not towable. I also was told that it is because of the computer control of the AWD.
- RFCN2ExplorerWe have had two MDX's. We currently have a 2008 and previously had a 2003. You can tow the original model without super handling. So that means up to 2006. From what Acura has told me the computerized super handling is the tow killer.
- tatestExplorer IIIf it is a 4-speed OD automatic, you probably could flat tow, using procedures outlined for the CRV, as that transmission was shared across the Accord, CR-V, Element, Pilot, Odyssey and some Acura models. If you do, don't expect warranty coverage for transmission failures.
With respect to other towing issues like odd tire wear and suspension wear, you would be mostly on your own. A good independent alignment shop might be willing to talk about alignment for towing, rather than for optimal handling when driving. If you find a baseplate or towing brackets for it, the manufacture of those parts will put the responsibility on you to make sure that use of what they sell you does not damage your car, but they do the same for all cars. - donn0128Explorer IIHonda does not make the Acura technically. Acura is a subsidery if Honda.
