How limiting are the longer RVs?
What I'm getting from reading along is that the closer you get to 38ft. and beyond you are limiting yourself on the amount of places you can camp. How large of a problem is this? Can anyone give me ...

I have never been in a private RV park where you would have much of a problem on the length. I am sure there are some, but I have not been in one.
But for local, state, COE, and national parks it is a different ball game. Most have at least a few sites that would be OK. But those are typically the ones that are already taken and only the smaller sites available. And then there are some that simply say NO to anything beyond a certain length.
