The large vehicle creates a bow wake and it first hits the truck or the trailer and pushes it over and you correct for that in the steering. As the truck passes, the bow wave is moved to the other end and pushes the truck or trailer in the opposite direction which requires another steering correction. The more distance between you and the bow wake source, the lower the effect.
The push pull effect is farther amplified by the suction behind the truck.
Your biggest problem is not enough tow vehicle plus high center of gravity in the tow vehicle, short wheel base and too light in weight.
So what can you do other than a larger tow vehicle? Keep and eye on your mirrors and when you are being over taken by a larger vehicle, move as far to the right as you can safely. Same thing when you have an approaching vehicle.
