Insulation

We got a 48"x25' roll of Reflectix Aluminum Foil Bubble wrap Insulation for $38 & covered every window & some walls where the air blows in. It helped immensely! I didn't need to tape it to the windows, so I take it off whatever windows I want to be able to see outside & put it back at night or when travelling.

The simple answer is no. You either have bonded walls with closed cell foam for insulation or a hung wall like a house with FG insulation. In either case the insulation is already there. You should know what type you have from your manual.

We camped several times in single-digit temps (not by choice, but because we were heading either to FL or back to MI in the dead of winter) in both our Class C and our 5er - and we stayed comfortable. I covered all the windows with Reflectix (like bubble wrap with foil on each side) insulation cut to fit so the shades could still be lowered; and we put those foam/fleece "vent pillows" in all the overhead vents. Close the ducted A/C vents and put a layer of Saran Wrap over the A/C grill - and you're good to go. IN our case, an electric heater did most of the work, and the furnace would kick on, on occasion. The only thing we didn't do at 5 degrees above zero: use the water or toilet. Our plumbing was mostly-contained inside the bottom shroud; but the water drain, and dump valves were exposed.

Keep in mind it isn't the insulating material that insulates, it's the dead air spaces trapped by it. Stuffing to much insulation material into a space can be worse than no insulation at all sometimes.

There might be room in the ceiling.
When I took out the vent to put in a fantastic fan I noticed a gap between the ceiling and the roof.

you probably could only insulate the bottom on the front and end caps. but why????

Not p!anning on it. Like I said, I was watching a home show and thought hey, is that possible in an rv? But I do plan on rewiring all the a\v in it. I've been in the a\v business since 1979. Wiring a specialty. Only challenging part of the job. Can't wait.

I dont think blown in insulation will work in an RV. They are not really built like houses.

I just had my small bedroom slide completely apart to put a new floor in it. The spaces created by the upright members and the cross members are small. In addition there already is insulation in those spaces usually glued to the interior wall.

To do the one wall of my small slide would take about 8 separate holes for blown in insulation.

The area above in the ceiling is also similarly divided into many small spaces.

I just dont think you will have a good result.

When I had my slide apart I replaced the fiberglass insulation with Foam Board. This too has an unintended side effect. any pressure on the inside wall will show a slight Bulge on the outside. But it insulates better for sure. BUT it is NOT worth taking the walls off your unit to do it. That is a simple, but time consuming job. (if it's aluminum sided) If it is fiberglass laminate it is much more difficult.
