Keeping Birds off Roof of Coach

We beach-RV quite often, and have issues with seagulls and other birds doing their own camping on the roof of our coach. Does anyone else have issues with this, and any suggestions on how to keep birds off the roof? We have solar panels so covering the roof may not be the most practical.
  • Check out products for Marine use.

I just read an ad for boats that showed a picture of what the seagulls do to their boats when docked. Just google how to stop seagulls since it is a real big problem with boats there is a lot of info comes up.

I can't find the magazine right now but they had the answer on how to keep them off and how to prevent the stains from their poop.

My friends with boats use the wire product seagull preventative for their boat lifts. Its a kit with wires that attaches safely with magnetic posts so its easily removable.

If you RV a lot on the beach long term, that might work for you.

Or a simple more esthetic look is the dori pole. Which they found out when used at festivals ALSO keep the seagulls away!!
Would be an easy install off your ladder!

Go to local animal shelter and adopt a cat. Game over.
How does that work? Put the cat on the roof?
  • Down here in the Pacific Southwest we just put up with it and when we get home clean it off. :(

Worse than Gulls is living under a Honey Bee flyway. Their poop(which they only drop in flight), leaves yellow stains. :M

A nice wax job helps when you wash either off.
  • Ya, we camp a lot on the beach also....or close to it. Seagulls can be a problem. I had a discussion with a flock of them once and they insisted that they were there before I was......:B

Well you could do what I did. Waste your money and buy a fake Owl and out up there.
LOL.. been there myself. Perhaps one with a moving head...

Fruit growers use reflective streamers to keep pecking birds away. Perhaps that would work.
