We just purchased a 5th wheel. Live on a farm and wondering when it is in our shed what we can use and how to use to keep the mice out?

When dark, take a trouble light and crawi underneath the unit while at the same time having somone inside looking to see if any light penetrates the TT. Cracks around pipes and wires etc can be filled with steel wool and then sprayed with expanding foam. Make sure all roof vents are sealed off too! Place a plastic pail over the tank vents and a rubbermaid box over the fridge vent. Set up some traps and periodically clean then out. Dont put out poisoned bait as they will eat and crawl into a wall cavity and decompose.

When I lived in Iowa and had a popup I used to buy a box of moth balls every fall, put 2 or 3 mothballs into about 15 dixie cups and then put the cups all over inside the popup - inside drawers, cabinets etc. I even opened the outside access panel for the water heater, water inlet, etc and stuck a few cups in there. In the spring I would gather up all the cups and dispose, then leave the camper opened up for a few days to air out. Never once had a problem. You might consider doing the same. I would probably also sprinkle a whole box all around and under the rig on the shed floor. Maybe 2 boxes - they're cheap, they work, and it's easy clean-up.Tim
