Learning the lingo

Okay, I'm new to this. Prior to purchasing our RV our only experience was in a friends tt (I got that one ;) ) that was stored at Ocean Lakes near Myrtle Beach. When we arrived the camper would already be on the lot and we had detailed instructions on how to set it up. End of the trip we did the reverse and they hauled it back to storage.

I am just learning the correct terminology to use when on the forums and talking to other people we will meet on the open roads. Even now on the forum I automatically think dyslexic writer and they mean GC (golf course) when I see CG. :o

So what terminology do I need to get pat so I don't sound too silly, but not like a pretentious noob trying to sound overly experienced.

  • The best education in the world is click on "Newest" in the upper left hand corner of this (or any) page. Look at the list of posts and mouse over to see a tidbit. If it's something you're interested in, have a closer look. When I began... and I still do it this way... I have a running list of things in my head that I want to know more about. Doing the above and running through the list once a day will answer all your questions. Within a week, you should have answers to most everything and it will be time to expand your list. Careful... it is addicting. :)

You sound like you are talking about me....and I have been at this RVing thing a really long time...:E
  • I had the same problem. I thought DW referred to dishwasher. Still thought it was the wife, just more of an appliance than a co-pilot!!

Still see one every now and then that cause me to pause and ponder.............
  • Just do a search for abbreviations or acronyms. The list is quite long.
