- RoyBExplorer IIMy outside porch-patio light has a motion detector built-in and this comes on if someone walks up close to the patio-awning area. They make a STARLIGHT series 1000 that is popular among the RV'ers... Available on AMAZON...
STARLIGHT SL1000
I like lights to come on if someone walks up too haha...
Roy Ken - DrewEExplorer IIIf you're outside and need light, go ahead and use the lights without being inconsiderate. That's kind of their purpose, after all--to light things up outside so you can see.
If the light is anything like the porch light on my RV, it might not make much of a difference for doing stuff outside. It's rather on the puny side. I keep a couple of those little round pop-up LED flashlights/lanterns near the door for actual outdoor eating, etc. when its dark. - Dutch_12078Explorer III

Yep, leave the outside lights on for security. You wouldn't want the crooks to trip over anything while they steal your stuff. They probably appreciate being able to see what you have out there too... :W
In case you couldn't tell, my tongue was firmly in my cheek when I wrote that! :B - boogie_4wheelExplorerI only turn on the exterior floods when I need to see something out there. Never left them on all night.

I guess security just want to do the right thing - rockhillmanorExplorer IINo. And if you do leave it on all the time sadly the bulb ends up burning thru the thin plastic cover.
If you want light by your door/steps? Pick up one of the 'many' motion activated little battery operated lights that you can place above, on or below your steps. All the box stores have an entire aisle of motion activated lights. :C - gboppExplorerWhat would be the purpose of leaving the lights on all night?
- jarata1ExplorerThank you but if your outside its ok to leave them on? As long as they aren't bothering anyone
- downtheroadExplorerNot on purpose...generally it's considered rude unless you are far away from your neighbors.
