Gotta love the newbs, & we all were one once.
Just met one this evening. You can pick them out real easy. This bought the trailer this morning, first one, heads out on Memorial Day weekend without reservations, cannot back into a site to save himself, proceeds to unhook the TV without chocking the trailer, break out the brand new water hose, the grill out of the box & plastic wrapper, etc.
Hey, but he is having fun, I think. He has 2 nights to read all of his owners manuals to try & figure it all out & will be going home with a long list of things to buy, starting with a much more capable TV. Somehow a 37' TT seems abit much for a mid sized SUV.
Guess the dealer said it was fine.
Backing in late at night, I'm sure I attracted a bit of attention... at least I can back a trailer... however, my car isn't exactly stock and isn't exactly quiet :) Wife and I desperately need to work on communications. Late night, dark campground and she's standing directly behind the trailer yelling, "do you want to be closer to the power pole?" You know the one I can't see? Luckily the campground gave me a LARGE site.
I did go with only a 24" TV, but have thousands of movies, tv shows, and music digitized, so that's all good.
Broke open the brand new camp stove, but there's more to that story. We pressure can a LOT, and this unit is highly rated for canning. Guess I'm getting some margarita glass lights :) Converted "most" of the interior lights to LED. Tried to do the exterior lights, but previous owner superglued the housings. Wife picked up an LED bar on clearance that sits in the canopy bar. That is freaking awesome. I told her to see if they have any left.
Lets see, ordered from amazon this morning
- gray water connector
retaining rods for fridge
water tank filler
OBD2 Bluetooth transmitter
Plastic lids for canning jars
Getting home unloading the trailer and moving it back to storage went really well. Drained all the water from the low points, but forgot to drain the hot water tank. I may run over there during the week to get that drained too. I will probably carry at least a little bit of city water, so if I have to, will have some tolerable waters.
Instructions are for wussy's :) Besides, I did look at the paperwork and it ain't worth crap.
Wife went to the grocery store and bought a bunch of stuff. As I'm loading the fridge, I'm looking at 60 slices of cheese and thinking, TWO DAYS? LOL. Had just enough alcohol this time. Food would have worked out well had we not eaten out once and ate at the campground pancake breakfast.
We're still learning, luckily I retain most lessons :) Need to write out some checklists, specifically on getting tow equipment set up. I lived on checklists when flying.
