Teach me how to get maximal use out of the grey. Is there a more efficient way to do dishes?
Thanks!
Glad your first trip out was pleasurable.
As far as doing dishes and saving space in gray tank, instead of filling your sink with hot soapy water to do dishes, try the following. Put about 1" of hot soapy water in a small plastic dish pan and place that in your sink. Wash silverware first and rinse over dish pan. Wash plates & glasses rinsing over dish pan with a TRICKLE of hot water. Finish with pots and pans, again rinsing with a trickle of hot water over your dish pan.
You can certainly remove all of the suds on your dishes with a 'trickle' of hot water out of the faucet rather than a faucet sprayer turned on at full force. In the end the amount of water used and going into your gray tank will be cut in half or even more.
Works for us. We have stayed at one campsite for eight days before we needed to empty gray water tank. Also, IF you are boon docking, your gray water could be used to water the grass, trees, etc.
Good luck and keep us posted.
