Can't help you much except first make sure the tires are inflated properly.

Your first trip calculations may be way off, you might want to use the thing several more times and fill the tank 1/2 dozen times or so, before determining a more accurate average. That said, through maintenance of the engine might get that number up by two MPGs or so.

Those MPG figures are not way out of line. Point blank your MPG's will not be very good with that size vehicle. The issues appears to be more with your expectations than mechanical. Inflate your tire properly
and drive at closer to 55 vs. closer to 70 for maximum MPG's

In mountains that may be a decent mileage.
You did not state where the trip was, how many miles, your speed, etc.
If you are looking for someone to look at the MH find a good truck mechanic not an RV mechanic

Any Camping World location, and Lazy Days.

register Rv in Brooksville is an ok place. Iv'e had a few things repaired there and they seemed honest and trusting.

I have taken my RV(s) to Camping World over the years because of the following reason: When I am on the road and a problem develops, I take it to the nearest CW if available. I did this many years ago when a leak developed in my black tank valve. I took it into CW, had it fixed and continued on my journey. Two days later and several hundred miles from the original CW, the leak occurred again. I took it into the nearest CW, explained the problem and they had it repaired correctly with no charge. If I had originally taken the RV into an independent repair shop and the same problem occurred I would have no recourse but (1) taking it back to the original shop or (2) having another garage fix it...and charge me. That's the main reason I am a firm believer in CW.

What size is it? What chassis (Ford or Chevy)? Did you do a complete tune up on it(filters, oil, plugs, plug wires, etc)? I had a 95 31ft Brave with Chevy chassis and I was getting 9-10 mpg depending on wind direction. I installed a tach and vacuum gauge and ran it at the best vacuum which ended up being 10inches at 2500 rpm and speed was around 60-65 mph depending on road conditions(hills or flat).

We've got a Chevy 454 engine in it. We only calculated the MPG once, after driving from where we bought it in Orlando to St. Pete, FL, and then to a nice dive spot about an hour and a half north (love the FL springs!).
The air filter and plugs looked pretty new, and the tires are good, so we'll just keep it around 55mph and keep checking. I think my main worry was that after looking around at other people's mpg, I was worried that something might be wrong that I wasn't seeing.
And hey, if it's 5 mpg, it's 5 mpg. I LOVE this thing!!! It's sitting in our yard until we're done remodeling, and we rarely go in the house. lol :)

I see you're in PP as well. We're near Belcher and Park. We're storing our coach at the end of 71st Street where it goes under Tyrone through the end of the month. I only bring it home to do work on it. Man had I known all it takes to make these things "travel comfortable". We're taking off in June for a couple months (12 or so) on the road. I'll be working so I'm trying to get everything setup for that along with all of the essentials to live.

If you need to get the tires balanced (and depending on the length an alignment (I think they said they could do under 30') Wingfoot Truck Service over near 49th and Bryant Dairy did well for me. I took the coach over there to have them check out the front tires for balance. They removed both, put them on the balancer and since only one was out of balance only charged for that ($34 and change I think)
