Need Information

We're new to the RV life, we have a 40' class a motor coach with 3 slides and a 50 amp hookup. we're looking for sites in Colorado that offer extended stays for coaches of our size that we don't have to move every 2 weeks. We also have a Great Dane and a blue healer so the site needs to be pet friendly. Can anyone please offer some places that offer sites we require? Ones that honorPassport America discounts would be helpful as well. Thank you for your help. Cody & Jodi Cooper
  • I would get onto RV Park Reviews and look. There is a lot of good information about the parks in the comments. If one looks likely, there is contact information for the park.

X2. That is a very reliable site for real reviews and a ton of information. They also link to the campground sites, so you can make reservations, once you find what you want.
  • In addition to RV Park Reviews (our first stop on the 'net when looking for a site), there are a handful of apps that help. RVParky and Allstays are very handy for short notice, what's nearby decisions.

Just a note on RV Park Reviews: Watch for campgrounds that have few reviews. You can't count on the accuracy of such reviews. Any good reviews were probably made by the owners or their family, bad reviews by the competition.

I look for a park with >10 reviews within the past 6-12 months with an average rating >7.5.
  • There are a great many parks in Colorado - especially in various mountain regions - which offer monthly or seasonal rates. Plenty of room for a coach your size.

However, you are not going to get a monthly rate equal to a Passport America 50% off discount.

It would be more helpful if (1) your post was on the RV Parks/ Campgrounds section of this forum, and (2) you gave us an idea of where in Colorado you are interested in camping.

This summer I have friends with motor coaches as large as your staying for a minimum of a month in the Estes Park (Paradise on the River), Gunnison (Mesa Campground) and Dolores (Priest Gulch RV) areas.

    EDIT -

I called and reached two of my friends - they are paying about $800 per month for their stays in CO.
  • If you look for private parks I think you can stay for as long as you want to pay them money, it is usually State and National parks that have a time limit.
