Fill your tow vehicle just before picking up your TT, then you should be able to get home without having to buy fuel. Trying to go through gas station with trailer needs to wait until you are more confident. I have a tendency to plan my trips around 200 mile segments, then I can unhook at campground to get gas without trailer.
