An RV is a residence only when camping. When moving down the road it is a vehicle. So an RV flip flops back and forth between a residence and vehicle depending on whether you are traveling to your next stop or set up at your campsite. No one knows how to interpret which it is when you stop for lunch. May have to let the courts figure that one out.
To meet CA law go to any sporting goods store and buy a cheap plastic gun case. I bought mine for $10. Add a TSA approved lock and you are good to go.
Yes, illegal to bring in ammunition purchased out of state. However, no one is going to be setting up checkpoints at the border. So that may be unenforceable.
Also not clear is how the new law will affect those that reload their own ammunition.
