I have not read this thread in it's entirety and I do not intend to, why, because I am tired of your constant bashing. I am, however, going to address some of the questions some of you have raised.
First and foremost, how many of you have been stopped by a California based LEO for no apparent reason and had your vehicle searched?
My comment on that question; I am a second generation California and I have never been stopped while driving in a safe and sane manner. I've gotten a few tickets for violations but never just because... No member of my family has either. I have never had a vehicle searched by a CA official, my DW told a federal board guard when we returned from AK that she had paid almost $2.00 for a lime in Canada. He came into our coach and asked for the lime, no search even though we admitted to breaking the law. Oh yeah, he was a FED, not CA.
Second is after being stopped for absolutely NO REASON by a CA LEO, how through a search were you subjected to?
So while it is absolutely asinine, follow CA law and separate your weapons and ammunition. You had to do that in CND if you were there with a declared firearm. No biggy.
I do not know about the validity of some interpretations of the law voiced here:h, all I know is that since when we as a family started camping:), I have never needed a gun, not only in CA, but Detroit, New Jersey, Kansas, AK or anywhere else:). I have not carried since about 1975. Would I if I could get a CCW permit here in my state, yes at times I would, but I can't:( and the DW would allow me to move to a state where I could:C but she would stay here:(. So follow the lead of millions of Californians and millions of other folks and don't drive stupid and don't brag about how big your gun is and you will not be going to jail.
I almost forgot, I was born in Hollywood in June of 1940 and Caillfornia is the only state where I have held permanent residence.
