- doxiemom11Explorer IIWe also are plumbed for a washer/dryer but never got one I wouldn't know what to do with all the stuff I use that closet for. I however have never gone to a laundromat in a large town. I go when in smaller towns or use the facilities at the rv park . Most are very nice. Seems to me the washers get washed every time they are used -- bleached often too. Don't know where all the bad stuff would come from.

How many clothing items can RV washers and dryers handle? They look like all you can do at one time is a shirt, a pair of pants and a few socks.
One queen sheet and two pillowcases. Three XXXL T-shirt’s and my socks..
You can do more but they start wrinkling and take longer to dry. - ScottGNomad

It depends, what size pants? :B - RobWNYExplorerHow many clothing items can RV washers and dryers handle? They look like all you can do at one time is a shirt, a pair of pants and a few socks.
- HalmfamilyExplorerWe had Whirpool units installed by our dealer when we purchased a our new FW. Only issue in 4 years is a dime someone got stuck in the impellar that empties the washer, took less than minute to fix.
We will never be without a washer and dryer in our RV, it's just too convenient to have. - Big_KatunaExplorer III think it depends on how you use your RV.
We have a Splendide combo unit. If we go out for a long weekend or even a week, we rarely use it.
But when we leave for longer it gets used almost daily. DW considers it standard equipment.
If you have room I recommend the stacker so you can dry and wash at the same time. - gboppExplorer

Do the math to see if you really need a washer/dryer.
The cost is over $1000. That will buy a lot of loads at the laundromat.
Will you always have water and sewer hookups?
Will you use it often enough to keep the rubber fittings moist?
Can you afford to give up that much floor space for something you use once or twice a week?
And besides, don't you meet the most interesting people in the laundry?
You need to factor in the convenience of your own W/D. You know what was washed, or not growing, in your machine. And, no waiting in line. That is a big part of the equation. - cmeadeExplorerCongrats on the new Alpine! DW did not want washer dryer at first but after a few loads she now loves it. We got the dometic ventless combo for about $650 on sale. It takes about 3 hrs per load but clothes are fluffy and clean. DW does laundry the day before our trip home and everything is clean and ready for our next trip.

You can get a stackable that runs on propane from any appliance store and have superior performance to the electric only models. (You'd have to run the PP to it).
Vented works the best.
