Beg to differ; it's a good question, and thinking through scenarios like this BEFORE they happen may save your life some day. (Example: What do you do if your MH blows a tire? If you don't know, watch the videos and find out.)
I grew up in Miami, and everybody there knew you couldn't let strangers in your home to use the phone or bathroom. If you did, you were likely to get robbed. This happened to friends of mine, so it's not just an abstract story. If you pulled over to help that nice lady by the side of the road, her friends would come out of the bushes; that one was pretty common.
Security is always a balance between risk and functionality: If you choose to be more courteous, that's fine, but you may be incurring additional risk. It's up to you to decide how much risk is acceptable.
