Believe me the rink i am a bit concerned as well, however, i will be the only passenger in the truck with not other cargo in the truck bed. The family will pack and ride in a separate vehicle. Also, you are assuming i will load almost 1700# of cargo in the TT. I will likely only load about 500-600# in the TT which i will weigh prior to loading. However, using the 15% rule makes the tongue weight 1100#.
I understand this is not the best scenario.
Again though, why would Ford put a hitch on the truck that could not even accommodate their max tow weight. Even if you have not other cargo in the truck the hitch can still not support a 8600# TT that Ford rates the truck at.
