Example... I weighed my truck alone... I have a axle rate of 2700 lbs... My rear weight was 1800.. That left me with 900 lbs... ( almost a half ton LOL for an s 10)
My tongue on the trailer I bought was 420 lbs. I asked the dealer to weigh it with full propane.. ( 2 tanks and battery)
With WD hitch it moved the weight to trailer and front truck axle. I am now at 340 lbs...
That leaves me 500lbs for gear in the bed and such....
The scales dont lie...
On a side note my truck tag says max cargo/payload at 765 lbs... Close to what my axle ratings are with leeway if I put that in the bed...But that is based on GVWR not axles....
Just trying to help is all.... Dont want you to buy a TT and be white knuckling it....
