I guess others think im an idiot and dont want to comment.
Others don't agree with my axle weight philosophy and probably dont want to comment because of that. This is a funny site with some un-knowledgeable members IMO. But other members know their stuff. Just my opinion is all. When I first came on this site I was treated rudely. The moderators should be doing a better job IMO..
with an estimated hitch weight equal to 15% of the wet trailer weight (6850# dry weight + 600 TT cargo)
Cant go by that in reference to cargo as it depends on where you put it... Put it all in the back bunkhouse and the tongue will lighten some I am sure...
And forget about the 15%... I stated to have the dealer give you a tongue weight... That # is generic and could be more or less.
I have weak leaf springs somewhat on my s 10. I am at about 10% tongue weight. Thats enough weight that the rear of my truck aint going no where. I dont use sway control and just have the WD hitch with chains. Airing up the tires to max cold pressure eliminated that little push from trucks passing me by...
My alternative would be a different WD system without the chains...
GVW = 6916# (Rear GVWR = 7050)
Rear GAW = 3736# (Rear GAWR = 3850)
GCW = 14346# (GCWR = 14000 EXCEEDED)
Let me mull this over....
I am stressing man.
Listen... Dont stress. Have you talked to the wife about the purchase?
Again answer this... Have you bought the TT already???
And what was the tire ratings PSI max and total lbs per tire on sidewall?
