Your post had me LMAO! Neither my DW nor myself ever use salt or pepper. So we keep paper packets for guests who might want some. Over the 40 years we've been together we have received dozens of salt and pepper shakers as gifts from well meaning people. Everything from Waterford crystal to quirky novelties. They're always empty when we receive them and we never fill them.
