Newbie introduction.

Just thought I'd say hello and thank everyone for the great info. I've spent hours and hours reading various topics and threads and it has been very helpful. I recently picked up a 1977 fliteway truck camper. Like most things in my life it's a fixer upper but nothing I can't handle. I restored my 84 Chevy silverado a couple years back and will be using it to haul the tc. Being a half ton I'm at my limits but plan on upgrading the springs at some point. I'm having difficulties figuring out how to get pics up and resized. I'm using an iPad. Don't know if that makes a difference. From what I'm understanding I need to use a photo sharing site like photo bucket etc?

    My first Rv was a cab over camper on a 1/2 truck. I installed a set of shock absorbers that were mounted to the front fenders and then to the front edge of the camper. This cut down on the pitching that comes with bed of the truck being seperate from the cab.

    How much dickering did you have to do to get the price down? :B

    Take a note book and pencil along with your credit card. Write down what you forgot and what you want. Then there is always a Walmart or Home Depot along most travel routes.

    One more thing I forgot to mention was the price I paid for the camper. I'm almost embarrassed. One Ben Franklin. Figured the jacks and fridge were worth that. Silicone needs to be stripped off all the seams, roof needs to be resealed, some structural rot that needs to be replaced, interior will get new paneling and ceiling. And if I don't run out of ambition paint the exterior. As for the user name I've been a machinist for 15 years and also rebuild transmissions part time for my neighbor who is a professional rebuilder. Also worked construction etc, jack of all trades master of none which looks like is what this projects going to take lol.

    Sharp one owner. Going to use it as is for the rest of the year. In spring it's going under the knife.... Or sawzall I should say. Hopefully be going on its maiden voyage next weekend.

    Hi all,
    My wife and I just purchased a truck and fiver combo. It's a 2008 Grand Junction which was only used on three trips. It's pulled by a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT with only 54000 miles and all the towing bells and whistles. We are about to take our first trip and would like any hints that will make our first rv experience awesome.
