A mid-sized SUV-CUV and a small trailer are a good combination for a single person. A 6 cylinder engine can tow 3500 lbs. Most 4 cylinder models are limited to 2000 lbs. What ever vehicle you choose, read the towing specifications carefully.
When shopping for a trailer, make sure to look at some of the "eggshell" style (all fiberglass) units, like Scamper. There are not a lot of manufacturers out there, but I think you will have less maintenance issues in the long run. They are a bit more expensive.
This will be a HUGE learning process. What to bring, what not to bring, set up, tear down. Check lists are a good idea. They will evolve over time.
