Newbie questions about TV

Hi Everyone, I am retired and my wife will be retiring new year. We are starting the process of finding our first TT and TV. Although we have time on the TT, our present car has 200k miles on it, so TV is a priority. Would like your opinion of 3 TV's we have looked at. They are Hyundai Santa FE, 6 cyl. 5000 tow capacity, Honda Pilot, 6 cyl. 5000 tow capacity, and Toyota Hylander 6 cyl. 5000 tow capacity. all would be AWD. Because of budget limitations we are looking for a slightly used TV with 30K of less.
TT will be about 18' and went to keep dry weight to 2500-2700 and GVWR of 3500. Also would like to know of long term reliability of the Santa Fe. Also any other car recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks

  • I would agree with previous posts, buy a bigger TV than you need now. Even if you never upgrade your trailer you will have a more capable TV that won't work near it's max to tow your rig.
  • I think your choices are cutting your selves off at the pass. All of then will box you into comprimises now and in the future. 18 feet of TT may sound big today and is probably fine for weekening. But if you intend to go for more than a few days can become cramped real fast. Think about your goals 5 years out and plan a TV for than not just next year.
  • I don't think any of three will make any big difference. Pick the one you like. They are all reliable and well made. Just know that in the future if you decide you want bigger...as many of us have found...you will be extremely limited.
