At home unless your trying to run AC9 and other stuff a basic 20A outlet is more than enough. With that a heavy duty 20A extension cord is fine. This will allow the batteries to keep charged and run the refer to pre cool before a trip. If your trying to connect to a 50A dryer outlet,, be awaremthey are not the same as a 50A RV outlet, and connecting to one can create all sorts of problems and expense replacing all the burned out components.
