Indeed. 50A RV outlets are not different than standard (4 wire) electric range outlets, among other applications. Most electric clothes dryers are 30A, but if one required a 50A circuit it would also use the same outlet.
30A RV sockets are unique and that can cause disastrous confusion at times.
