A lot of advice here. Probably for, as confessed, a "newbie", more information than he / she can make sense of.
If you are going from your RV 50A male plug to your garage 110V female wall receptacle you will need a couple of adapters.
Adapter one: 50A Female to 30A Male
Adapter two: 30A Male to 15A Male
You would plug your RV cord end into adapter #1 and that into adapter #2 and that into your wall outlet in your garage.
BEFORE plugging anything into your wall outlet in the garage, turn OFF the breaker switch in your garage wall panel that goes to the wall outlet you wish to plug in to.
After plugging in all your adapters and your RV plug together, plug in adapter #two into your wall outlet, you may NOW turn on the power in the electrical box.
You now have power to your RV. Enough power, as stated in other posts, to run small current draw items.
