You need a CB in your Tow Vehicle (And a 2nd one in the Trailer for that matter but for sure you need one in your Tow Vehicle.
Use a full quarter wave WHIP antenna.. and mount it on the side of the truck or on the back of the cab (Or roof if needed) so that the tip of the antenna is just a couple inches higher than the highest point on the trailer
Low hanging ______.. Approach slowly.. IF the antenna hits.. Back off and go around.
NOTE it is the antenna you need... But since you are going to mount the antenna might as well hang a CB on the other end of the feed line.. and a 2nd one (Shorter antenna perhaps) on the trailer so you can radio wife "UH, was that Milk or Beer you wanted me to buy?" (I know, I know.. Stupid question).
