Buy the television you want, where you want. Only consideration is will it fit where you want to put it for viewing. When traveling ours lays on the bed.
As far as the mattress, you will get many responds on here. We bought a short queen on sale from CW world a few years ago. At that time a good deal, the same one not so good a deal now.
