Newmar Dutch Star

Newmar hands down.

Tiffin and Newmar are both good manufacturers. We like Winnebago too.

I have a Newmar and the quality and customer support has been excellent. I have no personal experience with Tiffins although I have met folks that have them and really like them. They seem to both be quality manufacturers.

Is it a "Paul" or a "Cardinal"? The resale value is different.

I have never owned a coach from either manufacturer. I have visited both manufacturers and watched coaches being built. I would go with the Newmar.

We've full-timed in our Dutch Star for 10 years. Excellent quality and still in great condition maintenance-wise. Newmar used to do many custom items for you..don't know if they still do.

I have been in both and frankly the Tiffin quality everyone raves about escaped my eyes. It looks just as cheap and flimsy as the next manufacturer. I have heard stories about walls, roofs, wait times etc on Tiffin. You don't hear many complaints about Newmar. Their quality is visibly better and I hear their assembly process is pretty top notch too. They seem to actually care about quality.

Tiffin has gotten to be a large manufacturer but they seem to have their problems. Bob Tiffin has to solve many of their problems but what happens if he retires again or dies? The last time he had to come back to save the company. Our flowergirl from our wedding has had nothing but problems with their Tiffen and it is now back to the factory. I was to the Newmar factory once because it is only 80 miles away from home. A loose wiper motor has been my only problem and that I fixed with a wrench myself.
