BTW, no one has mentioned this, but when you are hooked up to city water, turn your on-board water pump off. There is no need for it as the RV's water system will instead be pressurized by the city water pressure.
IF left ON......so what?
It won't run unless pressure drops low enough to start pump.
Pump won't use any power unless it runs
Doesn't hurt a thing if left ON
In my TT, the pump pulls from the onboard potable water tank. Are you saying that if the system is pressurized with city water, it won't activate the pump? The thing is, if I use a water pressure regulator, it keeps the pressure too low. I only get a dribble out of my shower. I'm thinking if the pump was on, it would compensate for this, but it would draw from the tank, not the city water.
I've probably solved this, as I purchased an adjustable water pressure regulator with a gauge on it, but someone with a standard regulator, OR if they were hooked up to low enough city water pressure, the pump might come on.
In any case, it would use storage tank water, not city water, wouldn't it?
