That and fall foliage season. Up here in Vermont The flood of tourists is in full swing but the color isn't cooperating. Due to a record warm September, leaf season is running about 2 weeks late. So, expect the crowds to continue. - SweetWaterSurprExplorerYes that is partially true. We have found many are just closed, and perhaps because of that, the rest are to capacity.

- SweetWaterSurprExplorerI can understand that and obviously realize that it would be a problem. We knew that having a 200+lb dog meant getting things under control at an early age, so he knows his limits.

We will never kennel our dogs. We have taken them with us for our other trips that weren't such long distances. I don't see the point in having pet friendly parks if everyone says to kennel your pets. On previous beach trips we have been able to leave them behind in our RV with no problems for short periods of time.
While your dog is well trained and behaves when you leave him along in the RV for short periods of time, this is not universally true of all dogs and owners. Some owners leave their dog alone and take off for a short period of time and then their dog starts barking and barking loud enough to be disruptive to other RVers in the surrounding area. When the owner returns he has no way of knowing how much his dog was barking!!! - BobboExplorer IIILook for a Flying J gas station in the area. Most of those allow overnights.
- Roman_DuckExplorerWalmart's,truck stops, or BLM(bureau of land management) sites. Are all good for at least an overnight.
We stayed in Salem in a little campground/Marina on a peninsula, it was about a mile from the village with public transportation close by . here's a link:

Don't know if they're booked or not; or maybe you tried already
They had electric and water. but no dump station. They gave us directions to another location where you can dump, but we opted to wait till that evening at another CG
Good luck, we travel with our canines with no problems there, but you better check the regulations to make sure. - TripalotExplorerAnother suggestion is to join Boondockers Welcome. Members provide parking spots on their property - could be some members in the area you are going. Facilities vary depending on what member has to offer.
boondockerswelcome.com - SweetWaterSurprExplorerOur trip is set for next week. We have had no issues with our dogs in the RV, they travel well and do not cause issues. Very well behaved dogs. The campground we were able to finally find for part of the trip had no problem with us having a Mastiff either. We simply haven't had any luck with parks at the other stops we planned on making.
- tenbearExplorerWhen is your trip? If you are planning to go in the next couple of weeks the parks are full of leaf peepers. That will end in a couple of weeks but then parks will start to close in the most northern states due to the oncoming winter.
There are always Walmarts.
