I always get a kick out of the wide range of opinions of the internet experts....and I guess I'm one of them, LOL!......Even as a professional mechanic I will NOT tell someone my "guess" on how to service anything. RTFB is my philosophy. Read The Friggen Book! The manufactures of everything tell you their recommended service intervals for everything that requires attention as well as offering advice on what condition might make you adjust those intervals. They also tell you what type of materials to use for such service - no need to over-think it (or fall for some auto parts store sales-pitch), just use what the MFR recommends and you'll be fine.
