I have the V10 with 135,000 miles on it. When towing heavy, at this milage, I burn a cup of oil every 2000 miles. I carry an extra quart to replenish along the way. I also have replaced the oil pan plug with a valve so I can drain into a container, like an empty milk jug. I have, when on the road, drained 5 quarts from the crankcase and left the old dirty filter and the sixth quart of oil for change when I arrive home. Not the best practice to mix five clean quarts of oil with one dirty quart but still better than running 10,000 miles between changes.
