You see this several times a day - when someone is the first person to post a reply to a question, why do a number of people use the QUOTE function to reply with instead of using the REPLY TO TOPIC fu...

Being the first responder, you had a great opportunity to quote the OP, you know, to show everybody what it looks like and what he means. :B
I remember a little while back a thread about pet peeves on this forum and one person indicated that his pet peeve was why the first responder would quote the OP. I see the quotes often from the first responder and laugh thinking that the "pet peeve poster" (PPP) is still out there shaking his head. :B
