When I rented a class C for a Florida Keys vacation and we ended up watching the first SpaceX rocket landing we decided pushing it till 4am was a bad idea so we stopped at the 95 rest station north of Miami and pulled in between two trucks, turned on the generator and cranked the AC, plenty of white noise to drown out there idling trucks. No problem with the staties either. Talking to several officers if you're just a traveler stopping so you're not a danger they don't care, it's if you're causing a commotion or look like you might be planning more than an overnight that they'll 'check' on you. If you don't want to risk being woken then Flying J stations are about alternative, the one at NC exit 106 has RV parking available as do several in SC.
