P trap
Does anyone put a makeshift P trap in your sewer hose to prevent sewer smells from traveling back up into your tanks/rv?

IF.......IF you are one that leaves grey waste tank dump valve open when connected to FHU site then having a 'droop' in your sewer hose is a GREAT idea.
Water will remain in 'droop' causing a water trap which is a very good barrier.
It will stop CG sewer system odors from going back into your grey ......
BUT more importantly the 'trap' will stop 'critters' (sewer flys) from getting into your grey waste tank and setting up house.
Personally I don't leave my dump valves open. Too much remembering :B
Got to close day or so before so level is high enough to use to flush after dumping black. Besides I have to go dump black anyway.
And with grey valve open water just drains off w/o removing greases, food particles, skin cells, soap scum and 'other' stuff that happens to go down shower/sink drains. So NO......I like a FULL grey and black when draining.
