I had to raise my propane furnace main front vent off the floor an 1/2-inch or so. The floor area right in front of the hot air flow was turning the vinyl flooring brown. I even installed a small piece of trim aluminum around that area as well..
I don't know if it was going to be a fire hazard or not but sure didnt like the idea of the flooring right in line with it was turning dark brown haha...
