Powe Washer

Can anyone tell me what kind of power washer they carry in your Motor Home?
Looking at a electric one to use when I need to.
  • I always thought it was silly that people carried power washers, but I live in the dry west. I think an onboard power washer would be a good tool for the rest of the country to wash off winter debris, mud, etc. from their chassis and under carriage components.
  • Power washers can do real damage to any caulking including the roof edges and around windows, all vulnerable spots. All it takes is one small caulking spot lifted and you could have real big $$ issues! Many manufacturers recommend against the use of a power washer.

I personally will never will use one. Soft brush and elbow grease used here. Be careful and good luck.
  • I am firmly in the camp of never using a power washer on my rig. Or my truck.

Not to be confused with the pressure washers in a car wash, which are less powerful.

  • I agree with Triker.

Most CGs have very clear rules against washing motor homes or trailers with free water.

I have an electric washer at home and use it on the front cap when we come in off the road. The rest I just wash with a long handled brush and the hose.
  • I have a 1550 psi one and it does a great job with plenty of power for washing the roof plus the front & rear caps, winter's green mold off. Without any need for soap or brush use.

I just did that a couple weeks ago. Next couple weeks I will do the sides. But will need to use some car soap & brush to help with that job.

I did add a extra 25' of hose to it so I didn't have to drag it up on the roof.

To begin with the electric ones, lightweight anyhow, are going to be very weak, Only 150-200PSI. Second, nothing beats a brush with a little soap to get the dirt off followed by a regular psi hose.
You slipped a zero. That should read 1500-2000psi

  • Most campgrounds won't let you use it to wash the MH.

I keep one at my winter spot and don't carry it with me on my 5 month summer trips.
  • I have a gas powered pressure washer. But, I don't carry it in the motorhome.

You have to be careful using a PW on RV's. It can remove the decals if the pressure is too high.

I'm curious, why do you want to carry a pressure washer in the RV?
