- LwiddisExplorer IIA local doctor will want to do tests or at least review your tests before prescribing heavy duty anything. If you are seeking opioids for pain relief, there is too much potential grief for the local physician to take the chance.
- TexasShadowExplorer IIwe use walmart, but walgreens does it, too.
- Second_ChanceExplorer IIDid you use the search function before asking this question? It has been asked and answered many times.
We use Express Scripts for Tricare. They send meds directly to our Escapees mail service who forwards them to us. If we are someplace long enough to warrant it, I go on-line and enter a temporary service address and the meds come straight to us wherever we are staying (such as this winter in New Mexico). When an Rx needs renewing, Express Scripts contacts our providers and gets a new one. If there is an emergency, we use Walmart pharmacies which are in network for Tricare. We just have to make it back to our providers once a year for regular check-ups to keep everything running.
Rob - ktmrfsExplorer IIImany insurance companies will allow you to purchase 90 day supply of many prescriptions, works for us since we haven't traveled for more than 30 days or so at a time.
One that doesn't work well when traveling are the scrips that require you to pick up the scrip from the doctor and hand carry it to the pharmacy for filling. And most of those only allow a short period of use, like 2-4wks.
But when I needed those, like after knee replacement, I wasn't planning on any traveling anyway. - K_CharlesExplorerI do the same with CVS, it has worked everywhere so far.

x2 Walgreens works too - Johno02ExplorerSame as Kennyg, except there are a few things that cannot be transferred across state lines. For these, I call my doctor, and have the prescription sent to the nearest Walmart. or other chain. BTY, if you have a prescription transferred to New Yory state, you may not be able to get it transferred back anywhere else. So check with your closest pharmacy.
- KennygExplorerDo all my prescriptions thru Walmart. That way no matter what state I am in I can get them in one day; usually within 2 hours.
