Propane tanks cover

I purchased a new TT last year and the cover wasn't secure. The dealer rep said we could secure it ourselves, but most people just let the weight hold it down. After many trips without the cover being tied down, it never once moved. Because we usually lift the cover up for easy access to our WDH bars when we connect or disconnect our hitch, it's far more convenient not to have the cover secured down.

Our propane cover has a small bungee cord at the bottom there should be 4 holes.

My propane tank cover has a plyboard hard top and the sides is some kind of material which has a sewn in stretch rope to keep it tight. It just slips over the two tanks.

Being directly behind my truck bed it probably doesn't get alot of wind...

Have a lot of highway roads miles on it since 2009 and all is holding in place.

I do not like the plastic covers. I would get the hard covers if I was you.
You can always tie the plastic covers down

My hard plastic cover that came with trailer was so tight there was no way the wind could have taken it off, because it took all I could do to get it off. Bought a new one that has hinged opening to access valves. It is looser but it still has never come loose. somewhere during my last trip home, I managed to loose the screws that hold the lid shut. I remember loosening sometime during the week to check tanks, but don't remember paying any more attention until I got home 600 miles and days later. The cover and lid were fine, just got to go find 2 new screws with latch top.

My hard plastic tank cover is free-floating. Haven't lost it in 2 years.

I did lose a single 20# soft cover off my pop-up though.

Lots of things to worry about on your trailer. This is not one of them.

My hard plastic cover fits snugly but I ran a couple of zip ties together at the bottom (mine came with two tabs at the bottom) for a "Just In Case" measure!!

A lot of folks have those covers, dang few see them blow away (if any).

I had a fabric/vinyl cover on my TT but it was more pain than worth. I am not sure you'd not be happier long term with no cover at all.

When you loosen the big wing nut holding the tanks down, there is a little movement in tank position possible. I move my tanks outward a bit to make the plastic cover snug. It takes some effort to overcome the friction and pull the cover off.

However, on my previous TT, a tight fit for the cover interfered with the L bracket for the W/D hitch, so that plastic cover was very 'loose' fitting.

Never had a problem and have never heard of anyone losing one, though I'm sure it happens eventually somewhere.
