In some cases yes the financing is enhanced when they perform the calculations this way. We were prepared to make a sizable down payment but when we arrived they had worked it out with no down payment.
My main point is that in decision making you need to be aware that in some states the top line sales price that is listed is what you will pay various taxes on.
More importantly the dealer did not make us aware of these issues and offer an option. It was not their responsibility to do so, it was ours.
My post was to help any other folks purchasing a large ticket item and taxes. Be aware of the monkey business on the paperwork. The swing for us is almost 60k from MSRP. So we paid taxes on that 60k also.
