Idk want to say.....op obviously doesn't know much about vehicles and RVs but why are you guys all talking about different engines and different problems. Y'all could confuse anybody. No V10 in 1995. Probably a 460 fuel injected. Great engine. Presume the Winnie op is talking about is for sale elsewhere and a dealers opinion was given ad hoc.
Don't even know if it's a ford drive train, but maybe that's all Winnie used in those models? If it's a Chevy engine, those had some intake gasket issues around then. Regardless, no intake or exhaust problem is anywhere near a $5k repair.
To the op, don't worry about any triton engine issues if it's a 95. Get a mech to check it out. If the fridge works, it's fine, but yes I'd get $1500 for a new one.
At the end of the day you're buying an over 20 year old box on wheels. Idk how nice it looks, expect to have a few issues. Idk if $12k is a good deal, but know that with just a few things needed like tires, brakes, overdue maint or ??? It's not unreasonable to have to put a couple 3 grand into it.
Get someone who knows what they're doing to look at it for you to lessen the chances of getting bit by unseen things to you.
