I would at least try it first. There are many variables such as insulation, slides, types of shades/blinds in play here.
Our 29' Holiday Rambler which we kept for 20 years cooled just fine in Texas with the one 13,500 btu A/C. It did not have slide outs though. Used it all over Texas and never had any issue with not keeping us cool in the hottest times of the year.
