This is a common misconception.
We've camped in our hybrid, at Yellowstone, Glacier, Grand Tetons, Yosemite National Parks.
There was only ONE campground that had a permanent ban on soft-sided campers, Fishing Bridge CG in Yellowstone.
Because of this one campground, a lot of assumptions get created.
Of course, Park bear policies need to be followed.
And by using Popup Gizmos and Reflectix, temp control in the tent ends, is quite easy and comfortable.
That said, I don't think a hybrid is a good choice for the OP's purposes. Unless the OP plans on staying for awhile at each stop, setting and taking down the tent ends and beds, will get old.
