We didn't consider it "giving it all up." We call it 'getting it all back' - our time, our lives, our freedom.
We retired in December at the ages of 47. Went from a 1500sf house to a 300sf tt. The small space is not a hardship; we lived in only three rooms anyway. We now have a 300sf mh.
We decided at 30 that we wanted to retire early. We lived on about 1/2 our income for 17 years, socking the rest away in 401s, 457s, and stocks. We now have more money/income than we did when we worked.
We have met many fulltimers on the road in the last 9 months. Most are older but they all have wonderful stories. I don't think we have met any unhappy fulltimers but we did know many, many unhappy working people.
